Iran's taekwondo athlete and bronze medalist in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games said, "I withdrew from the competition with athletes from child-killing Israeli regime to support the Palestinian people. I'm not disappointed about this, rather I'm very happy."

Hawzah News Agency- Mobina Nematzadeh, a female Taekwondo professional from Iran, who started her first Olympics at the age of 19, first won against Michelle Tau representing Lesotho in the first round. Then, in the quarter-finals, she won against Adriana Cerezo from Spain, the silver medalist of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to reach the semi-finals. In the semi-final, she lost against Gu Qing from China, the world silver medalist in 2022, and went to the runner-up. In the match against Dunia, Abu Talib from Saudi Arabia, the world bronze medalist in 2022, Nematzadeh won and hung the bronze medal. Mobina Nematzadeh's bronze medal was the second medal in the history of Iranian women in the Olympics.

In an interview, she stated,” I faced Israeli athletes three times in the lottery and I had to be eliminated in the weight-lifting.”

Nematzadeh continued to say she doesn’t feel upset about this incident rather she is happy because sometimes you have to support people and stand with them since God almighty sees these acts and will reward us. “I am not really disappointed about this and in the end, I was able to win the Olympic medal despite all the ups and downs, this is the highest peak to raise my country's flag.” She added.

It should be noted that Nematzadeh defeated Saudi Arabia’s taekwondo athlete 2-0 to win the bronze medal.

She defeated Michelle TauIn 2-0 from Lesotho in the round of 16.

Nematzadeh then defeated Adriana Cerezo Iglesias of Spain, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist and 2023 world bronze medalist, 2-0 in quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Nematzadeh faced Guo Qing but suffered a 2-0 loss against the Chinese athlete.

Thailand’s Panipak Wongpattanakit won the gold medal, defeating Qing 2-1 in the final.
